About The Women of Color Initiative

The Women of Color Initiative supports women of color in policy-making and leadership positions to strengthen all of Georgia. We strive to support the self-determination and leadership of Women of Color (WoC) in their development of statewide policy agendas by providing data from the WOC statewide surveys.

Why is the Women of Color Initiative's study important?

The WOCI's Unpacking Georgia Women of Color’s Collective Voice, Power, and Civic Engagement is the first known study that focuses on WoC’s voices as it relates to their policy priorities and their lived experiences. With this study we hope to move beyond traditional reporting that under-represents the voices and perspectives of People of Color to tell a story about what WoC’s perspectives on community engagement, and how those perspectives reflect their hopes and concerns for the future and their needs.

Knowing how to better engage core demographics of voters will undoubtedly have significant consequences for the leaders selected to govern and make policy in this state and in the country at large. We are happy to share these invaluable insights with you!

We are happy to share these invaluable insights with you! And please share the report with anyone whose advocacy efforts should include working towards establishing and protecting the rights of WoC.
