The electoral power of Women of Color (WoC) has become increasingly evident in recent years. The US is starting to realize what many of us on the ground have been saying for years: Women of Color have a critical role to play, not just in getting people elected but in upholding democracy every day. While WoC mobilize and get others elected, our issues and interests fall to the wayside. Yet we persist: organizing, advocating, and engaging in every facet of our families and communities' socio-economic and political lives. Amid the global pandemic, which threatened to depress voter turnout in the 2020 election cycle, Women of Color stepped up to ensure that Covid-19 did not silence the voices of their communities and families. Of course, this is no surprise to those familiar with our 2019 WoC Survey results.
Our goal in 2019 was to use the survey, listening sessions, and their results to focus the conversation on the issues that are most important to Women of Color in Georgia. Now, in 2022, in light of COVID, we seek to update and mobilize our communities and leadership at all levels around this conversation, and we need your voice to help make that happen! In addition, we have Listening Session Events across the state for a more in-depth conversation to provide a narrative to the data generated by the survey. Find out more about the Listening Session
