Leadership Development
The focus of the Women of Color Initiative leadership program is to create a lasting network of women of color legacy leaders in Georgia who individually or collaboratively use their power, self-efficacy, and possibility thinking to uplift marginalized communities, to build a strong network of support for themselves and other women of color, and to manifest clear pathways for women of color advancement and visibility in social, political, educational, financial, and cultural arenas.
The leadership program provides women with the opportunity to enhance their leadership capabilities to effectively lead social justice and advocacy initiatives. Areas of focus include but are not limited to:
Building emotional intelligence;
Understanding how personal lived experiences can impact leadership effectiveness and success;
Creating a personal leadership vision statement as a guide for leading with influence and authenticity;
Receiving tools and resources to assist with navigating through a non-profit landscape of continuous change;
Creating a powerful collective of women working together to challenge systems of oppression and marginalization using policy, advocacy, activism, and scholarship.
Another objective of the Women of Color Initiative leadership program is to conduct research to support women of color with leading from a place of power and purpose.
